Lamia Law Origin The Lamia Law was established by Maria Lamia in the year 1682. At that time there was no such thing as Whiteblood or Blackblood only because in those times the world didn't know there was a difference. The most famous of the Lamia Law where of both White and Black blood. Maria Lamia used her own Family Crest as the symbol for the Lamia Law that you see today.
The Lamia Law was originally established to try and create peace between the vampires and other creatures. Maira Lamia understood that in order to be treated with the respect they deserved they needed to become the Society they claimed to be. Since then the Lamia Law has held strong onto their beliefs and Justice System until the day the Great Gyps War started. |
The Great Gyps War (1 8 3 4 - 1 8 6 4)
On October 15, 1834 the first fight broke out between the White and Black Bloods while in the Lamia Law Courts. A Blackblood by the name of Shane O'Riley was being charged for the murder of a Gypsy known as Gavleon Witchase. O'Riley's defence was that Witchase was forming a plan to hunt down Vampires for sport and money. The Witchase Family went against this claim while being questioned, and O'Riley's clan took action.
Lamia's descendant and head of the Lamia Law, Yuri Lamia, was captured by O'Riley's brother and killed before the eyes of the courts when she refused to let Shane go free without charge. The Lamia Clan, the first Whitebloods, then fought against the O'Riley Clan until they were forced to retreat.
On December 18, 1834 the Whitebloods discovered that the Gypsy Race had the power to rid Vampires of their curse, and turn them mortal. They made an agreement in the name of the Lamia Law to join forces against the Blackbloods and their new allies, the Swan People.
This lead to another battle known as Gyps Ends on December 28, 1834. The battle began the war officially and was known to be the Whitebloods' ultimate defeat. The Blackbloods' new allies proved to be more powerful then imagined, and the Whitebloods and Gypsies went into the battle unprepared. With a huge loss of 384 Vampires and 826 Gypsies, their army was cut down by more than half in the first battle of the war. Some stood with the Whitebloods while others turned against them. After betrayal of a few clans, the numbers of fighting Whitebloods was greatly reduced to 84 Vampires and 15 Gypsies. With such a great loss they were forced to go into hiding until they had the numbers to fight again.
On April 3, 1845 the Whitebloods came out of hiding and continued to fight with numbers larger than before. This surprised the Blackbloods and they lost a good amount of people during the Crossroads Battle. The Whitebloods were victorious and they left the battle with 1,284 Vampires and 348 Gypsies. Over the years and battles the Whitebloods began to lose more and more people.
The final battle of the Great Gyps War was fought and won by the Whitebloods on October 31, 1864. Sadly the Whitebloods lost many of their people and the Gypsies were forced into hiding once again. the Lamia Law issued an order for Whiteblood re-population, sending out Lamia Law Council members to change humans into Whiteblood Vampires. The Law did not pass though until 1882, when their numbers dropped dramatically.

The Rabid Threat (1 8 8 4 - Present) The Rabid Threat started on March 14, 1884 when news of Gypsies being killed reached the Lamia Law. Blackblood evidence at these murders was as clear as day because they wanted to be found. The current Blackblood leader is still unknown to the Lamia Law, but they have made it clear they want humans to be punished for the crimes of their cursed relatives, the Gypsies. Whiteblood leader, Maria Lamia II, ordered all Lamia Law Council members to hurry the re-population project in a style that meant pre-war action.
The threat sent Gypsies into hiding once more, and they continue to hide under the protection of the Lamia Law. Some Clans harbored them in small Clan Villages, but Blackbloods quickly learned of this and began burning down Clans and their homes in order to kill the Gypsies that may or may not be hiding within them. The Threat is still a high priority for the Lamia Law, and pre-war actions are being made along side the actions of civil justice and even threats within their own Society. |
